Robotics with TinkerCAD

Anyone who is curious about how robots think and machines move, this course will help them take their very first step into the world of electronics and coding. Students learn real circuits, write real Arduino code, and build lights, alarms, gadgets, and small robots, all inside the free Tinkercad simulator, so nothing can ever break and every idea is safe to try.

Why take this course?

This course uses a Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach to develop problem-solving skills and foster creative thinking through hands-on electronics and coding projects. Designed for absolute beginners aged 8 and above, students build creative projects with lights, sensors, motors, and small robots entirely in the free Tinkercad simulator, moving gently from simple circuits to real Arduino code. Students explore key concepts like circuits, sensors, loops, variables, and conditions while designing traffic lights, mood lamps, burglar alarms, parking sensors, reaction games, and smart gadgets. Because everything is simulated, nothing can break, so students are free to experiment, fail safely, and try again, building both technical confidence and creative courage. This course encourages students to think critically, test their ideas, and learn through making, helping them develop real engineering and problem-solving skills from their very first class.

Learning Outcomes

  • Build and simulate working circuits in Tinkercad as well as in real life, and understand how core electronic components behave. Write and read real Arduino code: pinMode, digitalWrite, digitalRead, analogWrite, analogRead, variables, loops, conditionals, and functions. Move confidently from coding blocks to real text code, running the same program in the simulator or on hardware. Read many sensors (light, temperature, force, flex, tilt, motion, distance, and gas) and act on their readings to make smart, responsive gadgets. Control LEDs, RGB LEDs, buzzers, servos, DC motors, and a 16x2 LCD to build gadgets and simple robots. Plan, build, test, and present an original project, strengthening problem-solving and communication skills. With this foundation-level knowledge, they will be ready to treat electronics and coding as a problem-solving skill and move toward exploring intermediate-level concepts such as real robot builds, advanced sensors, and physical computing in Robotics Level 2.

Learning to code helps build essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It fosters logical reasoning, boosts confidence in using technology, and prepares children for a future increasingly shaped by digital tools.

While we highly encourage punctuality and regular attendance, we understand that emergencies can happen. In such a case, parents must inform the instructor before the class and request a recording. In this way, the instructor can arrange a recording if informed in advance, as we do not usually record classes.
