Why take this course?
Prerequisites:
- This course is for young learners aged 8 and above who have completed Scratch Level 1 or have equivalent experience.
- Required prior knowledge includes basic knowledge of building blocks such as loops, variables, conditions, and operators.
- Students must have experience in browsing the internet and using Google.
- A typing speed of 21 Words Per Minute (WPM) is recommended to efficiently manage code blocks and project notes. Practice typing here:
- Students must have access to the latest web browser and the email address used to sign up on Scratch.
Course Outline
Learning Outcomes
- Design and implement multi-level games and complex programs using lists and advanced cloning techniques.
- Apply computational thinking principles like Decomposition and Abstraction to break down large challenges into manageable parts.
- Master logical operators and complex conditionals to create sophisticated game logic and real-time simulations.
- Utilize Scratch Extensions (Music and Video Sensing) to create interactive projects like music players and motion-controlled meta-games.
- Create custom, professional-looking game assets using Vector Art and learn to source and integrate external audio.
- Transition confidently to intermediate programming courses and have a portfolio of 10-12 published games on their Scratch account.

Teaching Junior Programming Scratch Level 2
The goal of any of the programming course is not to learn the software or the language, but to use it as an activity to enhance our thinking skills. This is where we build the foundation of thinking about algorithms. I try to get the students to see the limitations of cloning or one way to solve a problem, so that they feel the need to make the program, faster and efficient.

Asim Ghafoor
Teaching Junior Programming Scratch Level 2
At Level 2, Scratch stops being just blocks and starts becoming real programming. We move into variables, loops, and clones, the tools that let students build smarter games and projects that actually respond and remember. My focus is depth: not just making something work, but understanding why it works. I push students to debug their own logic and think like real coders. The goal is simple: take confident beginners and turn them into young programmers who design, build, and solve on their own.

Teaching Junior Programming Scratch Level 2
Whether you loved Level 1 or are jumping in fresh, you are in for an incredible ride! In this course, we build real projects: a T-Rex game, Pacman, Snake, a working clock, and even a music player, all in Scratch! Every session pushes kids to think like problem solvers while keeping it fun and exciting. Let's level up!

Ayila Rasheed
Teaching Junior Programming Scratch Level 2
I’ll teach Scratch Level 2 by encouraging students to think like problem-solvers and designers. We’ll build more advanced projects step by step, breaking challenges into smaller parts and figuring out how different blocks can work together. I’ll ask students to predict, test, and improve their ideas rather than simply giving them the solution, helping them become more independent and confident with coding.

Mishal Ahmed
Teaching Junior Programming Scratch Level 2
Most kids can follow a tutorial. My goal is to help them build without one. In Scratch Level 2, students move beyond basic animations and simple games to learn how real projects are designed and developed. Through advanced concepts like variables, broadcasts, custom blocks, and game mechanics, they learn to plan, test, debug, and improve their creations independently. Every class will challenges students to think critically, and turn their own ideas into polished interactive Projects !
